Southwest Florida International Airport - Fort Meyers (RSW): 1-hour + 20 minute drive
Tampa International Airport (TPA): 2-hour drive

RENTAL CARS
Renting a car is the easiest, most cost-effective way to get to Boca Grande. However, once on the island you'll find using a golf cart is the best way to get around. Rental cars are available at all the airports, but tend to book up early.
Please note there are no gas stations on the island. Make sure to get fuel before arriving on island.
Be advised of the $6 toll for the Boca Grande Bridge (cash and credit card accepted).
CAR SERVICES
David Tamraz is a local driver we've used and is a great option to get to and from the Island. To book, please call or text him at (815) 762 7304. Price is $140 each way for up to 6 passengers and baggage.
UBER & LYFT
Regrettably Uber and Lyft are not present on island. Please plan on booking a car service or renting a car instead.
Getting Around
GOLF CART RENTALS
The preferred ways to get around the Island are walking, riding bikes, or renting golf carts. We strongly encourage you to reserve golf carts before you arrive, as there are two other weddings on island that weekend and the rental shops will likely run out of golfcarts.
If you're staying at the Gasparilla Inn, you're able to rent a golf cart with your reservation, please inquire about carts upon booking or with their concierge team.
Please follow the links below to see a few of the other golf cart rental companies on island:

(941) 964 - 4600
There is an onsite pool, and it is across the street from a public beach access point.
Rental Homes
Rental homes and condos are a fun option to experience Boca. All weekend activities will take place on the island, so be sure to search and book in “Boca Grande” to make sure you're close to the festivities. To get the best experience, we suggest staying in the village of Boca Grande (between 1st Street and 5th Street) or south of the village--Sundown, Sea Oats, Turtle Back, and Gulf Dunes are all great options.
Activities
BEACHES
Gasparilla Island has some of the best beaches in Florida. There are dedicated access points along the Gulf side of the island on most streets and larger beach access points with parking areas south of town. Boca Grande has some of the most incredible shelling in the world and the island has an immaculate shell collection at the Johann Fust Community Library (across the street from the wedding venue!).
BOATING & CHARTER FISHING
Explore Boca Grande’s waterways by renting or hiring a boat for a few hours. There are plenty of companies in the area that rent boats and offer charter services. We adore Eddy Potter's charter fishing; to get in touch please call or text Eddy at (941) 815-0009. Boca Grande Marina is a full service marina on island and a short walk from town.
TENNIS & GOLF
The Boca Bay Pass Club (tennis) and Lemon Bay Golf Club (golf) are both a part of what makes our time in Florida so special. Both venues are private member only clubs, but we're delighted to help coordinate court and tee times as guests of the Bernsten's. The Pass Club is a short golf cart ride to the Southern point of the island and courts are $15/court/hour. Lemon Bay is a 15-20 minute drive off island and guest fees are ~$80/person for 18 holes, including a cart.
BIKE PATH
Ride a golf cart, bike, run or walk along the island’s dedicated 6.5 mile path.
PORT BOCA GRANDE LIGHTHOUSE & MUSEUM
Located at the Southernmost tip of the island, the lighthouse has a beautiful view and shoreline to walk along, with a museum to visit. You will see lots of wildlife here, and it has our vote for the best location to spot dolphins swimming off shore.
VILLAGE OF BOCA GRANDE
The Village of Boca Grande, located in the middle of Gasparilla Island and adjacent to the Gasparilla Inn, is easily walkable with just a few blocks packed with restaurants and shops to explore (our favorites are Boca Grande Outfitters and Boca Blooms).
Drink and Dine
TEMPTATION RESTAURANT
Known as "The Temp,” it's one of Max and Sara's favorite place to pony up to the bar for a martini and people watch. The bar portion serves up the best selection of Bourbon on the island--and it has Sara's vote for the best "hummer" of all the local haunts. It's the oldest restaurant in Boca Grande, and The Temp's eclectic collection of signs and photos at the bar are a nostalgic nod to the island's history. Accoutrements aside, delicious food and excellent service never go out of style and, here you'll find both.
* If you fish and bring home your catch, the kitchen will prepare it any way you want.
PINK ELEPHANT
Known as “The Pink,” this is a great option for a casual lunch downstairs (the french fries are a must try), or a nice dinner in their upstairs dining room. Walk-ins only for the downstairs portion of the restaurant, and the upstairs accepts reservations for dinner. The food is as fresh as it gets and the perfect mix of upscale island fare and relaxed old school Florida supper club.
Lunch: Island casual (shirts and shoes required)
Dinner Upstairs: Resort evening (shirts and shoes required)
Dinner Downstairs: Island casual
EAGLE GRILLE & MILLER’S DOCKSIDE
Located at the Boca Grande Marina, Miller’s Dockside is a great laid-back destination for food and drink. Miller's is fisherman's hangout post charters, so be ready for a fish tale or two if you head to the bar.
GASPARILLA INN DINING ROOM
The ultra-charming Inn Dining Room is as gorgeous as the food is delicious. Their white-table cloth, four-course heritage inspired meals are a true gem of the island. The Inn Dining Room is only open to the public and guests for breakfast and dinner.
Please visit the Inn's website for dress code details.
BZ’S
BZ’s is located on the main floor of The Gasparilla Inn and is a great place to enjoy a cocktail before or after dinner--it's Max and Sara's go-to spot to play a round or two of backgammon and enjoy a cocktail. Open from midday to late night daily, the adjoining outdoor terrace is also the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of The Gasparilla Golf Club.
Attire: Island casual. No bathing suits.
post Dinner: Jeans, shorts, or tank tops are not permitted.
THE OUTLET
Conveniently located in the Innlet at 11th and East Railroad Avenue, the Outlet has the best breakfast on the island and serves lunch dockside until 2 pm. With their charming umbrellas, hearty portions, and great views of the bayou, the Outlet is a Boca staple.
NEWLINS
Like a little slice of Cape Cod in Florida, Newlin's is a great place to pick up a lobster roll to take to the beach. They sell a variety of wine, crackers, salads, and sandwiches. It's the perfect pit stop before you head to a beach for a picnic.
HUDSON'S
The only grocery store on Island, Hudson's offers pre-made meals and all the convenience you could want from an island grocery store. They do have a limited selection of items, so be sure to stop at Publix before you get on island if you have dietary restrictions.
PARK AVENUE WINE & SPIRITS
The only liquor & wine shop on Island--Park Ave (connected to The Temp) is the best spot to pick up your favorite libations. They have a limited selection of items, so consider picking up beverages at Publix or Costco on your drive in (but they do stock a few specialty bottles of whiskey and Sara's always been able to find a bottle of Whispering Angel for $16.99).
Frequently Asked Questions...
Where should we get groceries?
Our favorite Publix is at 13435 S McCall Road in Port Charlotte, you can order ahead for pickup and swing by on your way to the island (we placed our pickup order on the flight in!). From there it's a ~20 minute drive to the island.
There's also a "small" Publix at 8725 Placida Road on the way to Lemon Bay, ~15 minutes to drive to the island.
Forgot something? Hudson's is in downtown Boca Grande and has most essentials and a few extras.
Are events indoors or outdoors?
Thursday - both indoor and outdoor
Friday - all indoors
Saturday - all outdoors
Sunday - both indoor and outdoor (but please be ready for stairs if you want to come inside)
The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be outdoors. We're looking forward to enjoying the oceanside Floridian weather and have will have a tent on the lawn overlooking the Gulf. If it's warm we'll have fans and if it's rainy we'll be under tents.
How can we get to and from the wedding venue?
We'll have a trolley that will drive around the island to pick you up and bring you to the venue before the ceremony starts, and again at the end of the evening to safely get everyone home. Please do not drink and drive a golf cart. Regrettably there is no wedding guest parking at the Pass Club, so please plan on taking the trolley.
Forgot something at the hotel? The trollies are ours for the night and can take you wherever you need for the duration of the evening.
What the hell is 'black tie barefoot'?
So glad you asked! Think of it like 'black tie optional'--we would love for you to dress elegantly (tuxedo or dark suit for men, floor length dress for women), but do not want you to feel obligated to buy a tuxedo or evening gown (let alone worry about wearing heels in the grass!). If you're keen to wear a tuxedo, be our guest! If you're opting for a formal dress and no shoes (like the bride), that would be lovely too.
..And what should I wear the rest of the weekend?
We want you to be as comfortable and at ease as possible, so think of dressing like you would for any other warm-weather vacation. For those looking for a little extra clarity, please follow the link below for additional details on the ambience were channeling for each event and outfit inspiration.
Is everything in the same location?
The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all at the Pass Club, and everything is on the lawn overlooking the Gulf.
